As many of you know, Erin and I were in Las Vegas on February 5th and Erin was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street. She has road rash and multiple fractures in her pelvis and lower vertebrae. We are counting our blessings that this is the extent of the injuries, as she is expected to make a slow, but full recovery! We would like to thank you for all of the love and support that has been sent our way!
LOVE this pic - what a HAPPY, GORGEOUS couple! SO GLAD you have some GOOD memories as well...
I know I texted Andy the other day, but I wanted to send another shout out to you both: I cried when I heard the news, but for 2 different reasons. One, for the tragedy & pain it has caused you, but also in relief that it wasn't worse!!! This is a time to CELEBRATE LiFE, too. It is moments like these, that will show you STRENGTH you never thought you had & the unconditionally LOViNG & SUPPORTiVE relationship you two have. Nothing has changed - you are still such a BEAUTiFUL woman with a heart of gold! :) The small frustrations of life are now even smaller in comparison. I am virtually sending POSiTiVE thoughts & a hug from li'l ole Fayette, Iowa to you both! I HOPE your therapy continues to go well & that you'll be back home soon...
This post really represents who you two are as a couple: You bring out the good in each other, you inspire those around you to embrace joy and happiness, and you do not let obstacles stand in your way.
The simple fact that you allow the good to emerge despite the adversity you are currently facing speaks volumes. You haven't let this affect who you are as individuals, or as a couple. You know there will be times ahead that bring frustration and sadness - but if you rally together as the wonderful team that you are, you will both find it easy to stay true to yourselves and allow the better angels of your nature to guide.
So glad that you were able to get over to see the fountains. Remember all of these good times in the days to come!!!
You can see from all of the posts on the blog and on Facebook that there are so many people that care about the both of you. You make a fantastic team. We appreciate all of the updates and it sounds like everything is progressing in the right direction. I admire and respect you both for how you've handled this situation and, as always, let us know if we can be of any help.
Hi Andy & Erin, Just hung up from your dad, Andy. We were so sorry to learn about the accident, but are thankful Erin is making good progress. We will keep you both in our prayers as the healing continues. Love, Jim & Becky P.S. Tell your mom 'hi' and I'd suggest you not give her any nickels. :>)

I love Becky's suggestion! Keep Barb away from the slots! Actually, I recall hearing that Andy had some luck at the penny machines . . .
ReplyDeleteDo they have slot machines in the waiting rooms at the hospital? It's Vegas, right?
