First thing on the agenda was to get Erin's hair washed. I wheeled her back to the "Salon de Andre" - the sink in her room - and slowly but surely got the week's worth of Neosporin/ointment out of her hair and her pretty blonde hair was back in all its glory.
After her hair appointment, Erin attended an optional group therapy session where she played Wii with some of the other patients. I told her to go easy on the others, but her competitive side still showed. I swear I saw a couple of the others leaving with black eyes and bloody noses (just kidding). She came back to the room and immediately challenged me to a game or two, but instead we both crapped out and decided to take naps after watching the Celtics game.
After we had our naps, the nurse came in and took Erin's stitches out of her chin. Erin said it wasn't very painful and the cut looks pretty good.
Later, we went outside to the garden where Erin did some resistance-band exercises. It just feels good to get outside and get some fresh air. After we came back in, we explored the hospital and found the nursery and looked at a few of the little "peanuts". There were sure a lot of cute little boogers wiggling around all bundled up.
We headed back to our room for dinner and Skyped with Erin's family when Erin was finished with her turkey dinner. Surprisingly, the food hasn't been all that bad. It was fun to see Olivia playing and dancing. The "little sunshine" brightened our evening.
Tomorrow is sure to be a busy day as they are going to begin pushing Erin more and more to learn how to become more independent. They will also de-breed her wounds again (which means another visit from Sunrise Hospitals version of McDreamy, Paul). She is also scheduled to get her stitch out of her eyelid tomorrow. I am sure she will do great, as she has met every challenge head on thus far!
We miss seeing everyone and we hope that this week will bring enough recovery to comfortably make it home soon.
Good night and God bless,
Erin and Andy

Hey girl! (and Andy) Glad you got to have your hair washed-everything feels better after that I'm sure. You are missing the staff meeting today-bummed I'm sure. Actually, I have a friend coming to do laughter yoga with the team. Not a lot of people know about it-I didn't want people skipping out. They say it's awesome and the woman doing it is a friend of mine. I wish you were here to be laughing with us. We're thinking of you every day and missing you. Take care. Get well soon! Hurry home. I'm sure Abby is missing you guys. love, Ronda
