Boogity Boogity Boogity....Let's Go Racing Boys! 2/12/11

(Disclaimer: We are not Kyle Busch fans, this is a photo Erin took at M & M World in Vegas)

As Erin put it as we watched the NASCAR opener tonight, "today was amazing". She had another great day with more firsts.

1. Wear a real T-shirt, instead of a gown...CHECK
2. Put on socks, and not the ugly brown hospital ones without assistance...CHECK
3. Put on shoes without assistance...CHECK
4. Learn and complete standing exercises including calf lifts...CHECK
5. Group therapy with upper body exercise...CHECK
6. Date to the hospital garden outside with hubby...CHECK
7. Get heplock (IV site) removed...CHECK
8. #2...CHECK

As you can see, it was a pretty busy but rewarding day for both of us. She also walked during PT for about 30 feet which was great because today was about quality and not quantity. This was even after completing her standing exercises. We also got to relax and watch the NASCAR race together which made things feel like they were getting back to normal. All in all, it was a great day!

We miss you all and thank you for your support!

Love,

Erin and Andy

  5. Good work Erin! Each step (literally) is so wonderful to read about. We can't wait to see you guys when you get back. Hope they're starting to set their sights on a discharge date for you; just being home is always the best medicine (besides laughter, or course :-) ) Keep up the fantastic progress!!!!
