Erin wheeled herself down the hall to the PT room and she used the parallel bars to take her first few steps since the accident. It was very moving to see her taking these steps. Although it was tough and painful, it was a great feeling for Erin, Andy, and even the therapist.
Erin also had her wounds cleaned by a wound specialist who wasn't too hard on the eyes according to Erin and Barb. Andy thought this would be the perfect opportunity to take Erin's glasses to get fixed so she couldn't stare:). It was also nice to have Erin sitting up for her lunch and dinner meals.
We both really enjoy and appreciate hearing from all of you and I apologize if I can't return all of your contacts promptly.
We love you all and God bless,
Erin and Andy
Erin,
ReplyDeleteI am praying for you and have asked other friends to be praying for you. You are such an incredibly strong woman and I know you are fighting hard through all of this. Andy I just want to thank you for being a great husband and if there is anything that I can do at all, please let me know!

Sounds like fantastic news and great progress! Keep it up!! -Beth P.
ReplyDeletePS: Every step of this will only bring you close and make you appreciate each day together. Sometimes God reminds us in funny ways to love and appreciate all you have! It may not be the idea "Valentine's Day in Vegas," but someday you will look back at it and remember what you went through together- and it will give you added reason to celebrate your life together each Valentine's Day!!
ReplyDeleteErin and Andrew someday over a cocktail I'll tell you a story about how a one spouse hit another spouse's car in a freak accident. 35 years later it is all good ; In the meantime Erin and Andrew take care.
ReplyDeleteAs one who has done a lot of rehab I think I can say that attitude plays a very important role in one's recovery. You both have a very good attitude and that plus your love for each other will get you through this.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Dad
